UFC 107 - AUTOGRAPH SIGNINGS

When Nathan found out that UFC 107 was going to be in Memphis, TN, he was bound and determined to go to the weigh-ins. He had been planning for weeks to go into work early and leave around noon to head out there. We live an hour from Memphis but the Fedex Forum is on the other side of Memphis making the trip an hour and a half long. When he learned that a few fighters would be signing autographs before the weigh-ins, the wheels were turning on how he would be able to swing taking the entire day off. He decided to work his normal hours on Thursday, come home and sleep for a few hours, and then go back in and work the graveyard shift. That way he could head out to Memphis shortly after getting off at 8 am Friday morning. Needless to say, he was exhausted, but he didn't care. Luckily, his buddy Justin, who is always off on Fridays, was willing to drive the whole trip.

This is where the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies play.
Nathan and Justin got lucky and were the very first ones in this long line.
Don't let the sun fool you though. It was freezing cold.
Thiago Alves
Efrain Escudero
Gabriel Gonzaga
We have this jumbo coffee table UFC book that shows before and after fight photos of tons of fighters. One is of Gonzaga's awesome head kick to Cro Cop. Nathan walks up, Gonzaga greets him with his enormous grin, shakes his hand, and continues to smile as Nathan says how cool the head kick was and this and that. He kind of thought Gonzaga would respond with some words about how that was a great night or something to that affect, but he just smiled and didn't say anything. Nathan finally remembered that he doesn't speak English.
Ummmm...Awwwwkward.
How cool is that?!
Dan Miragliotta...He is one enormous referee.Nathan took a pretty good picture of Justin in front of the fighters. And then Justin returns the favor by chopping off part of Nathan's head.
Can't blame him though...He was having to look up quite a ways. :)Each fighter had their own photos to sign and handout.
They are thick like card stock and should look really nice matted and framed.Nathan said that waiting 2 hours in line in 30 degree temperatures was more than worth it. And Cole is stoked that we're going to hang these photos up in his room. He would've flipped out to actually see them in person. It's really a pretty cool thing for the UFC to put the fighters out there like this and make them somewhat accessible to the fans.
